FYI Lifestyle Show has everything for 50 plus

Free, informative and entertaining are three words that aptly describe the FYI Lifestyle Show.

The older adult -focused event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Burlington’s Royal Botanical Gardens Visitor Centre. There is plenty of free parking and admission to RBG is also free.

Back for the 17th time, the twice-annual show presented by Forever Young Information (FYI) magazine welcomes the first 750 visitors with loot bags packed with information.

The extensive list of exhibitors includes retirement residences, cruise companies, financial experts, health practitioners and tour operators. The FYI Lifestyle Show also features retailers and community groups that offer opportunities for fun and outlets for various talents and interests.

Exhibitors are eager to speak to the attendees about their business and some will be offering giveaways.Be sure to visit Forever Young’s booth to get a ticket for a chance to win one of the many door prizes that will be given away throughout the day.

There will be three, informative 20-minute seminars at scheduled times throughout the show. Expedia Cruise Ship Centre's Business Development Manager Sandra Pennington will be sharing the opportunity to take a cruise as an all-inclusive vacation with flights from Hamilton, transfers, gratuities and beverages included..

Memoir and autobiography writing expert Larry Weiss will highlight the importance and benefit of preserving autobiographical memory through memoir writing. Weiss is also the author of Through a Lens of Emptiness: Reflections on Life, Longevity and Contentment.

The afternoon will feature the sounds of The Toronto All Star Big Band, back by popular demand to perform a one-hour set beginning at 2 p.m. The talented young musicians perform music from the golden age of big bands (1930 to 1950) throughout Ontario and the United States. The band engages in cultural nostalgia with excellent programming and choreography.

After exploring the show, spend some time exploring Royal Botanical Gardens and take advantage of the free admission.
