What is the XM swap point?

Swap points are the difference in interest rates between currency pairs and occur when a position is carried over to the next day (rollover). In other words, if the position is not carried over until the time when the swap point is due, it will not occur.

The difference in interest rates at that time appears as swap points, which can be positive (received) or negative (paid).

Currently, XMTrading has negative swap points for most of the major currency pairs, whether long or short.

When XM swap points are awarded.

XMTrading's swap points are accrued at rollover time from Monday to Friday on weekdays. Specifically, swap points on open positions carried over are accrued when the New York market closes at 6am GMT (7am in winter time).

Please note that if you close your position before this time, you will not receive swap points for the day if you are targeting positive swaps. On the other hand, if you want to avoid paying negative swaps, you must close your positions before rollover.

Triple swap points on Wednesdays.

XMTrading (XM) offers three times the normal swap points on rollover from Wednesday to Thursday. When trading on the foreign exchange market, the settlement date is usually two business days later, so trades made on Thursday will be settled on Monday and trades made on Friday will be settled on Tuesday.

Therefore, on Wednesday the swap points for the three days including the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) are combined (no rollover takes place on the weekend due to the trading suspension).

Please note that not only positive swaps but also losses due to negative swaps will be three times the normal rate, so please be careful when holding positions across Wednesday.
